About This Honey
Raw Linden Honey — What It Is and Why It's Rare
Linden honey — also known as lime blossom honey or tilia honey — is produced from the nectar of linden trees (Tilia genus), known in the UK as lime trees. Despite the name, linden trees are not related to the lime fruit. They are the large, fragrant-flowering trees found throughout Central and Eastern Europe, and the tree traditionally associated with apothecary and folk medicine traditions across the region.
Our linden honey comes from Transylvania, where linden trees grow prolifically in the forests and along riverbanks. The trees bloom for a short period each summer, producing nectar with a distinctive herbal, slightly minty, and lime-blossom character that bees collect intensively during the brief flowering window.
In Central Europe, linden honey has been prized for centuries as one of the most medicinally regarded honey varieties. It is one of the rarest and hardest to find in the UK market in genuinely raw, single-origin form.

Centuries of Tradition
Linden Honey. Central Europe's Most Treasured Variety.
Linden honey has been collected and used in Central European folk medicine and culinary tradition for centuries. In Romania, Hungary, and across the Balkans, it is regarded as one of the most valuable honey varieties — prized for its distinctive herbal flavour and the brief annual window in which it can be harvested.
In the UK it is rare to find genuinely raw, single-origin linden honey from a named Transylvanian source. Subscribing gives you access to this variety automatically, at 20% off, without needing to remember to reorder or risk it selling out.
