Raw honey vs supermarket honey
What You Are Actually Subscribing To
The 20% saving only matters if the honey itself is worth having. Our raw honey is different from pasteurised supermarket alternatives.
HoneyBee & Co. Raw Honey
- Never heated. Cold-extracted to preserve enzymes, pollen, and antioxidants. Raw honey is nutritionally distinct from refined sugar (see our full Honey vs Sugar report).
- Single-origin, fully traceable. Every jar carries a GS1 barcode and the harvest details on the label.
- SALSA-certified British supplier. Our British honey supplier holds SALSA Certification. Full food safety audit, full traceability.
- Six generations of family beekeeping. Our Acacia, Linden, and Sunflower come from the Nistor family apiaries in Transylvania. 150+ years on the same land.
Typical supermarket honey
- Pasteurised. Heated to 70 degrees or more, destroying natural enzymes and antioxidants.
- Blended. "Blend of EU and non-EU honeys" printed in small type on the back label. No traceability.
- Ultra-filtered. Pollen removed, making origin impossible to verify.
- Often adulterated. Independent studies have found added sugar syrups in a significant share of imported honey.

Subscription questions
Everything You Need to Know
How do I cancel my raw honey subscription?
Log in to My Account, go to Subscriptions, and click Cancel. Cancellation takes effect immediately and you will not be charged again. No phone calls, no forms, no waiting period. If you have already been charged for a renewal that has not yet been dispatched, contact us within 24 hours and we will refund it in full.
Can I change how often I receive my honey?
Yes. From My Account, go to Subscriptions and click Change Frequency. Switch between monthly, every 2 months, or every 3 months at any time. The 20% saving applies at all frequencies. Changes take effect on your next renewal date.
Can I subscribe to more than one honey variety?
Yes, absolutely. You can hold multiple active subscriptions simultaneously, each on its own schedule. For example, Acacia monthly and Heather every 3 months. Each subscription is billed and dispatched independently. If you prefer variety over a single favourite, our bundles are designed for that purpose.
When will I be charged and when will my honey be dispatched?
Your card is charged automatically on your renewal date. We dispatch within 1 to 2 working days. You will receive a payment confirmation email and a dispatch notification. Delivery typically takes 2 to 5 working days via Royal Mail. Full delivery details on our Delivery & Returns page.
Does the 20% discount apply to every delivery?
Yes. The 20% discount is applied automatically to every renewal for as long as your subscription is active. There is no introductory-only offer and no time limit. Subscription price is fixed at 20% off retail from your first delivery to your last.
Is free delivery included with a subscription?
Free UK delivery applies to any order of three or more jars, including subscription renewals. Standard delivery applies to orders of one or two jars.
Can I pause my subscription rather than cancel?
Yes. You can pause your subscription from My Account. Your subscription remains active but no payment is taken and no honey is dispatched until you unpause. Ideal if you are going away or already have a good stock at home.
Can I gift a subscription to someone else?
Subscriptions are set up against the account of the person paying. For gifting, our bundles and gift sets are a better fit. If you would like to set up a multi-month gift subscription for a named recipient, contact us directly and we can arrange it manually.
Should I stock up instead of subscribe?
Our 3-jar stock-up bundles save 5% vs single jars. If you reliably finish three jars in three months or less, the subscription saves four times more (20% vs 5%). The stock-up is ideal for testing your usage rate first, or for honeys like Heather where the single annual harvest may not match the subscription cycle.
Do NHS staff get additional discount on top of the subscription saving?
The NHS 15% lifetime discount and the subscription 20% saving are separate programmes, not stackable. For NHS staff, the subscription price is usually the better value. Contact us if you have questions about which programme suits you best.
Is raw honey the same as supermarket honey?
No. Most supermarket honey is pasteurised (heated to 70°C+), ultra-filtered, and blended from multiple countries. Pasteurisation destroys the enzymes, antioxidants, and antimicrobial compounds that make raw honey nutritionally distinct from refined sugar. Our raw honey is cold-extracted, never heated, minimally filtered, and fully traceable. Read our full comparison in Honey vs Sugar: A Comprehensive Report.
Is raw honey safe for children?
Raw honey is safe for adults and children over one year old. Honey should never be given to children under one due to the rare risk of infant botulism. For older children, mild varieties like Acacia and Soft Set are the most child-friendly honeys in our range.
