About this honey

What Makes British Wildflower Honey Special

Multi-floral by nature. Never the same twice.

Midlands, Britain

Raw British Wildflower Honey (3 x 280g, 840g total)

Our Wildflower honey comes from bees that forage freely across the rolling Midlands. Unlike single-floral honeys where nectar comes from one source, Wildflower is a natural blend of whatever is blooming at the time of collection. The result is a honey with real depth and a flavour profile that shifts with every harvest.

Hand-harvested in small batches by independent British beekeepers who place hives near pesticide-free meadows, woodland edges, and hedgerows. Cold-extracted and bottled without heat, filtering, or blending with foreign honey. SALSA food safety certified.

Six Ways to Use British Wildflower Honey

The most versatile British honey in the kitchen. Here is where its floral complexity shines.

🍞

On fresh bread or scones

The classic. Good sourdough, warm scone, proper butter, and a generous drizzle of wildflower honey. Tea time done properly.

🥑

Drizzled over baked camembert

A whole camembert scored across the top, warmed until gooey, finished with wildflower honey and fresh thyme. The floral complexity matches soft cheese perfectly.

🥘

In vinaigrettes and marinades

Whisk with olive oil, lemon juice or mustard, and a pinch of salt. The honey adds body and rounds out the acidity. Works on every salad from summer greens to roasted root vegetables.

🍱

Stirred into Greek yoghurt

Thick Greek yoghurt, a generous drizzle of wildflower, fresh berries, and a handful of granola. The floral notes lift plain yoghurt out of the ordinary.

🥤

With roasted root vegetables

Carrots, parsnips, and beetroot tossed with wildflower honey, olive oil, and thyme, then roasted at 200C until caramelised. The honey caramelises beautifully.

🎄

In hot lemon and honey

A traditional British remedy for sore throats and winter chills. A teaspoon of wildflower in warm water with lemon juice. Soothing and naturally sweet.

Provenance

From British Meadows to Your Table

Independent Midlands beekeepers, traceable hives, fully British supply chain.

Our British Wildflower honey comes from independent beekeepers in the Midlands we have worked with for years. Their hives sit near pesticide-free meadows, ancient hedgerows, and woodland edges, the places where genuine wild forage still thrives in the UK.

From April through late summer, bees travel up to five miles from the hive collecting whatever nectar the season offers. Spring brings hawthorn blossom and apple. By July and August, the bees are on clover, thistle, bramble, and countless hedgerow flowers. The result is a honey whose flavour shifts gently with every harvest, reflecting the true biodiversity of the British countryside.

Honey vs sugar

Why Wildflower Beats Refined Sugar

Raw wildflower honey has a lower glycaemic index than refined sugar and carries a broader spectrum of natural antioxidants than most single-floral honeys, thanks to the diversity of its nectar sources. It is sweeter per gram than sugar, so you use less. Honey is still a free sugar and should be used in moderation, but in a fair comparison, raw British wildflower brings far more to the table.

What the research says

British Wildflower Honey, Briefly

What we know, what is promising, and what is still being studied.

Local Pollen and Hayfever

Raw British wildflower honey contains trace amounts of local pollen. Some research suggests this may help certain people build tolerance to seasonal allergens. Evidence is mixed and it is not a substitute for prescribed treatments. Our full hayfever article.

Antioxidant Diversity

Because wildflower honey draws on many floral sources, its antioxidant profile is broader than most single-floral honeys. Darker amber batches typically carry more polyphenols than lighter golden ones.

Natural Enzymes Retained

Raw, cold-extracted wildflower honey retains naturally occurring enzymes like diastase, invertase, and glucose oxidase. Commercial processing typically destroys these through heat and ultra-filtration.

A Moderate, Mindful Sweetener

Honey is classified as a free sugar and should be used in moderation. Where you are already using a sweetener, choosing raw British wildflower gives you the same sweetness with more flavour character and retained natural compounds.

This information is general and not medical advice. Honey should not be given to children under 12 months. If you have diabetes, severe allergies, or are managing blood sugar, consult your GP before significantly changing your diet.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does each jar of wildflower honey taste different?
Wildflower honey is multi-floral, meaning bees collect nectar from many different flowers rather than one source. The flowers in bloom shift throughout the season, clover in summer, bramble in late July, hawthorn in spring, and the proportions change every year depending on weather. That variation is the whole point. Each jar is a snapshot of a particular landscape at a particular moment.
Can wildflower honey help with hayfever?
Raw British wildflower honey contains trace amounts of local pollen. Some people find that regular consumption may help build tolerance to seasonal allergens, though evidence is mixed and effects vary. It is not a substitute for antihistamines or prescribed treatments. Read our full hayfever article for the research.
Is this British or imported?
100 percent British. Our Wildflower honey is hand-harvested in the Midlands by independent British beekeepers we have worked with for years. Never blended with imported honey. SALSA food safety certified. Fully traceable from hive to jar.
Will wildflower honey crystallise?
Yes, over time. Raw wildflower honey is naturally runny when fresh but will begin to set into a coarser crystalline texture after weeks or months, depending on the floral composition of that particular batch. Crystallisation is a sign of raw, unprocessed honey and does not affect the flavour. If you prefer it liquid, warm the closed jar in warm water below 40C for 10 to 20 minutes.
How is this different from supermarket wildflower honey?
Supermarket wildflower honey is almost always a blend of honey from multiple countries, heat-treated for long shelf life, and ultra-filtered to remove pollen and prevent crystallisation. Our wildflower is a single-origin British honey from one supplier region, cold-extracted, raw, and unfiltered. Same category of product, entirely different experience.
How much honey is in this pack?
Three 280g jars, totalling 840g of raw British Wildflower honey. Enough to last most households two to three months of regular use.
Can I subscribe to this pack?
Yes. Subscribe and save 20%. Monthly or every three months. Cancel or pause at any time.
How should I store it?
Room temperature, away from direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate, as cold accelerates crystallisation. If your jar starts to set and you want it runny again, place the closed jar in warm water below 40C for 10 to 20 minutes.
