Pure Raw Honey. As the Bees Intended.
Cold-extracted, never blended, never heated above hive temperature. The natural enzymes, pollen, propolis, and antioxidants stay in the jar.
01
Never heated above hive temperature
Cold-extracted, never pasteurised. Glucose oxidase, antioxidants, and beneficial compounds remain fully intact in every jar.
02
Single-origin, never blended
Every jar contains honey from a single floral source and a single named landscape. No commercial blending.
03
GS1 barcoded for traceability
Every jar carries a GS1 barcode you can scan to verify the country of origin, the apiary, and the harvest window.

Six generations of expertise
Our founder Dragos Nistor is the sixth generation of his family to keep bees. Guest lecturer at the University of Greenwich.
Hive to jar
What Happens to Your Honey Before It Reaches You
The route from flower to spoon determines what ends up in your jar. Four steps, two very different products.
HoneyBee & Co. Raw Honey
-
1
Bees collect nectar
From single-origin flowers in a single named landscape. Acacia from Transylvanian forests, Heather from Yorkshire moors, never mixed.
-
2
Cold extraction
No heat applied above natural hive temperature. Enzymes, antioxidants, and aromatic compounds remain intact.
-
3
Minimal straining
Only wax fragments and debris removed. Pollen and propolis remain in the jar, keeping origin verifiable.
-
4
GS1 barcoded & bottled
Hand-bottled in glass, GS1 barcoded, traceable from your kitchen back to the named beekeeper.
Typical supermarket honey
-
1
Bees collect nectar
From mixed sources across multiple countries. Floral origin and geography are not tracked.
-
2
Heated to 70°C or more
Pasteurisation extends shelf life and prevents crystallisation, but destroys the natural enzymes and aromas.
-
3
Ultra-filtered
Pollen and propolis removed entirely to keep the product crystal-clear and to make origin impossible to verify.
-
4
Blended & bottled
Honey from many countries combined into a single anonymous jar. Label often reads "EU and non-EU honeys".
Understanding your honey
My Honey Has Gone Solid. Is It Still Good?
Yes. Crystallisation is one of the most reliable signs that your honey is genuine and raw. It happens because raw honey contains natural glucose that forms crystals at room temperature over weeks to months.
Supermarket honey has been heated specifically to prevent crystallisation. If your honey has crystallised, the quality, flavour, and natural properties are completely unaffected. It simply needs gentle warming to return to a soft consistency.

Six Generations of Beekeeping
I started HoneyBee & Co. because the honey on supermarket shelves bears no resemblance to what my grandfather harvested. We do not blend, we do not pasteurise, we do not engineer a standardised flavour.

The questions customers ask before placing their first order.
What is raw honey, and how is it different from supermarket honey?
Raw honey is extracted from the hive and strained, but never heated above hive temperature and never ultra-filtered. The natural enzymes, pollen, propolis, and antioxidants all remain in the jar.
Most supermarket honey is pasteurised at 70°C or higher to keep it liquid on the shelf longer, then ultra-filtered to remove pollen. The processing destroys most of what makes raw honey nutritionally distinct from refined sugar.
How do I know your honey is genuinely raw and single-origin?
Every jar carries a unique GS1 barcode registered against the global product database. Scanning it verifies the country of origin, the apiary, and the harvest window. Our British honey supplier holds SALSA certification, which means our facilities are independently audited.
How long does delivery take, and what does it cost?
Standard UK delivery is 2 to 5 working days via Royal Mail tracked, dispatched Monday to Friday. Free UK delivery on any order of 3 or more jars, one-time or subscription. Single-jar and 2-jar orders carry standard postage.
Is your honey suitable for children?
Raw honey is suitable for children from 12 months of age. Like all honey, it should never be given to infants under 12 months due to the rare risk of infant botulism. The mildest varieties (Acacia, Soft Set, Wildflower) are typically the most popular with younger children.
How does the subscription work?
Every variety is available on subscription at 20% off every delivery. Choose monthly, every 2 months, or every 3 months. Cancel, pause, or change frequency anytime from My Account. See the full subscription range.
Do NHS staff get a discount?
Yes. NHS staff get a 15% NHS Discount on one-time orders. The NHS Discount and the 20% subscription saving are separate programmes and cannot be combined. For most NHS staff, the subscription price is the better value.
What's the difference between your British and Transylvanian honeys?
The difference is the floral source and the landscape, not the standard. Wildflower, Soft Set, and Heather are sourced from a SALSA-certified British apiary supplier. Acacia, Sunflower, and Linden come from our family apiaries in Transylvania, where the Nistor family has been keeping bees for six generations. All six are raw, cold-extracted, and single-origin.
Do you offer corporate gifting or wholesale pricing?
Yes. We have a dedicated corporate gifting page with custom packaging, branded cards, and bulk pricing. For wholesale or trade enquiries, contact us directly.
What's the shelf life of raw honey?
Raw honey is one of the most stable foods on earth. Properly stored (sealed jar, room temperature, away from direct sunlight), it remains safe to eat indefinitely. The honey may darken or crystallise over time but does not spoil.
Do you ship outside the UK?
UK mainland is our standard delivery area. For Channel Islands, Northern Ireland, or international destinations, please contact us first for a shipping quote and customs guidance.
