Three Honeys from Our Family Hives in Transylvania
The Nistor family has kept bees in the Acacia forests, sunflower fields, and Linden groves of Transylvania for more than six generations. These three honeys come directly from our own apiaries. Same family, same land, same craft that has not changed in over 150 years.
Acacia Honey (280g)
Pale gold and crystal clear with a mild, delicate sweetness. Our lightest honey. Stays liquid longer than almost any other variety. The Acacia forests surrounding our family hives bloom each spring, producing one of Europe's most prized single-origin honeys.
Tasting notes: vanilla, clean sweetness, floral
Sunflower Honey (280g)
Bright golden with a warm, buttery sweetness. Sets firm over time, which makes it ideal for baking and cooking. Harvested from bees foraging the vast sunflower fields that border our family's apiaries in the Transylvanian lowlands.
Tasting notes: warm, buttery, caramel hints
Linden Honey (280g)
Light golden with a distinctive fresh, woody-minty character. A Transylvanian staple with centuries of tradition. Harvested when the ancient Linden trees bloom in early summer, filling the forests with fragrance. Pairs beautifully with herbal tea.
Tasting notes: woody, minty, herbaceous

Six Ways to Use Your Heritage Bundle
Three Romanian honeys, each with its own character and best uses.
Acacia in tea and coffee
The mildest, most versatile sweetener. Dissolves cleanly into hot drinks without changing the flavour. Add after brewing cools below boiling to preserve the raw enzymes. Works with any tea from green to black.
Linden with herbal tea
Linden honey's woody, minty notes complement chamomile, peppermint, and other herbal blends perfectly. A spoonful before bed with a calming herbal tea is a Transylvanian tradition passed down through generations.
Sunflower for baking
Sunflower honey's warm, buttery character and firm-setting texture make it ideal for cakes, flapjacks, and honey bread. Substitute for sugar at roughly half the quantity and reduce oven temperature by 15 degrees.
Acacia with cheese
Drizzle Acacia over brie, goat cheese, or fresh ricotta. Its delicate sweetness lets the cheese flavour lead while adding a clean, golden finish. The classic European pairing.
Sunflower in marinades and glazes
Sunflower honey caramelises beautifully. Brush it on roasting vegetables, use it in a chicken or pork glaze, or whisk into salad dressings with mustard and vinegar for a Romanian-inspired touch.
Linden in cocktails
Linden's herbal complexity adds unexpected depth to gin cocktails and spritzes. Mix equal parts honey and warm water for a syrup, then add to a Bee's Knees or a simple gin and tonic upgrade.
Why These Three?
This bundle tells our family's story. Three honeys from the same Transylvanian landscape, each from a different bloom.
Six Generations of Craft
Dragos Nistor's great-great-great-grandfather first kept bees in these same Acacia forests over 150 years ago. The methods have barely changed. No shortcuts, no industrial techniques. Just patience, knowledge, and deep respect for the bees.
Three Seasons, One Landscape
Acacia blooms in spring, Linden in early summer, and Sunflower in high summer. These three honeys map the Transylvanian growing season from start to finish. Three distinct flavours from the same family hives.
European Provenance You Can Trust
Unlike cheap imported honey labelled "blend of EU and non-EU honeys," every jar in this set is traceable to one family, one region, and one harvest. This is what genuine European honey tastes like.

Family-Harvested vs Mass-Produced Honey
Our Romanian honey is the opposite of industrial. Here is why that matters.
Nistor Family Honey
Family harvested. Cold-extracted by hand from our own hives in Transylvania.
Single-origin. One family, one region, one harvest. Full traceability from hive to jar.
Raw and unfiltered. Natural enzymes, pollen, and antioxidants preserved.
Six generations of knowledge. Traditional methods passed down since the 1800s.
Industrial imported honey
Factory processed. Heated, blended, and ultra-filtered at industrial scale.
Untraceable origin. "Blend of EU and non-EU honeys" with no provenance.
Nutrients destroyed. Pasteurisation removes enzymes and beneficial compounds.
Potential adulteration. Some imported honeys contain added sugar syrups.
The Perfect Gift For
For anyone who values provenance, heritage, and the story behind their food.
